SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything, brought to you this week by The Food Network.

These are crazy times for Kari and myself. She’s off to New York and might be traveling the US, I am doing some stuff that I can’t wait to talk about!

But we always have food! Kari and I both love the Food Network and she tells us some juicy behind the scene stories about some of their stars. What’s your favorite show?

And that got us also talking about our eating habits. It’s hard to cook at home. I mean it’s fun, but then you have clean up and set up and leftovers. I love leftovers and could eat the same thing day after day but Kari not so much. And anymore, it IS cheaper to go to McDonalds and get some 1.00 double cheeseburgers! So we watch Alton Brown but don’t always use it. Although Geoff and I did make some AWESOME french onion soup.

We also talked more on Palin and the VP debates and then went on to eat some awesome steak made by my hubby, Geoff, from SomaCow and all 3 of us (plus Rowan) watched the Pres. debates. We’ll get into that next week I’m sure! But the election that really matters can be found here

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything, brought to you this week by Winter Park Photography. They take the most awesome photographs and have the coolest studio! Check them out and tell them Jen sent you!

So I had a shout out, I really tried! But I just could not do a shout out to Sarah Palin. And as I’m writing this blog, I’m listening to the debates. Nucular? Seriously???

But Kari jumps in with a shout out of her own, Katie Couric. How she handled herself during that interview with Palin is just outstanding!

And an honorable mention from us and our live chat room for Tina Fey and her Palin performance, bravo!

We also talked about some birthdays and what we did and some dreams we’ve had. Have you ever had one of those dreams that was so real that when you woke up the emotion continued?

Kari On this week covered hygiene and tips to help the smell and taste of certain things. Thanks, Kari!

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything, brought to you this week by the Orlando Princess.

So this week I had to give my shout out to a woman I admired in the 90s and grew admiration for again this past week, Hillary Clinton.

She showed so much class in an interview I saw her doing. She is a true lady!

Kari introduced her shout out as a menage a trois! She knows how to get things going!

So Kari’s birthday was this Wednesday and last weekend she went deep sea fishing for the first time. She caught something awesome and we’ll try to get a pic of it. Hear her stories of the sea.  And once again she thanks the deity of your choice (she’s not picky) because she is getting another all expenses paid trip! This time to New York City. Good luck, Kari!

Of course her story was interrupted by probably the best call ever. Kari’s ex-boyfriend from high school called in! I’ll have to let the podcast speak for itself but man you missed seeing her face live!

And Fall TV is starting. What show are you most excited about seeing? Are you a drama person? Sitcom? Reality?

On one of my mom’s favorite shows is How I Met Your Mother and she was telling me about the storyline which spawned a discussion over friends becoming boyfriends. Have you ever fallen for your good friend? Did it work out? Mom always told me to marry my best friend but I don’t think she explained herself. I think she meant that my husband SHOULD be my best friend but I wasn’t supposed to fall for all my male best friends! *note to self for talks with Rowan

And of course we rounded out our show with Kari On. This week Kari brought to us a new fetish she found. It crosses her line…

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything, brought to you this week by tastespotting.com. It’s all about the food!

This week’s shout out goes to the woman I’ve known the longest, my mom!

At the beginning, after having Rowan, I didn’t think much differently of my mom. But this week she came up to visit and help out and watching her with Rowan made me realize that she was that way with me. That connection just clicked. While we might not share all of our secrets or always get along, I do love her and look up to her, now more than ever!

Kari is back this week and brought her own shout out! She met an incredible woman, Miriam, on her trip. She’s a voodoo priestess! You can click here for more information on her after listening to the episode!

Kari of course shared all about her trip including the great regional food! We realized we don’t have anything like that in Orlando, maybe Beefy King. What foods do you have in your area? Is there a restaurant you’d take people that was local to your town?

Kari also visited the WWII museum where the docents were people who were associated with/affected by the war. What a cool experience!

Kari’s birthday is next week and this weekend she is doing something she’s never done before and is a little nervous. That reminds me, Kari? You didn’t get the thingys from me!

I swear I talked during this episode! I’ll have stories to tell soon…

Kari On this week was about sex toys. And not the ones you’d think of, no, this is stuff you might have around the house and we came up with a few of our own. Have you ever gotten creative with things in the house? Share!

The music this week was:

icon for podpress  Episode 75 - We Kari On Without Her [1:04:42m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything brought to you this week by The Sports Buzz. You can hear them live every Sunday from 6-8 PM Eastern.

I’d like to start with thanking my friend Sue for co-hosting with me this week! She is a great friend and also a listener to the show and we had a blast!

My shout out this week is on Florence Kelley.

She was a woman ahead of her time, fighting for labor laws, against child labor, and for peace during World War I. This week would have been her 149th birthday.

So it looks like, as of this posting, the world didn’t end with the Big Bang experiment, so that’s good! But one day life will end for us all. So what do we want to do before we die? Sounds like travel! What about you?

Speaking of travel, Sue just got back from a cruise and shares some very interesting stories of her time. And then Kari calls in from New Orleans! It was cool, if you were at Ustream live with us, because Kari was on a live camera and we all linked up and waved hello!

Rounding out our show with Sue, we talked about our parents and grandparents. They are aging. Will you care for your parents? Do you already? How do you handle having your own life and taking care of those who gave it to you?

Thank you, Sue, for coming in. Please come back anytime! And we can’t wait to hear Kari’s stories when she returns next week!

The music that I picked out this week rocked, of course!

icon for podpress  Episode 74 - A League Of Our Own [58:00m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything. Brought to you this week by Cafe’ Du Monde where Kari will be next week…we’ll miss her! But can’t wait to hear her hurricane (the drink, not the ones about to pound us) induced phone call!

My shout out this week comes to us from Maggie from Girls Night In Radio. Check them out! Great girl talk about movies, books, and whatever else is on their mind!

Maggie wrote to me, “So I was reading the newspaper this morning with breakfast and found out that Dottie Collins who was the “Strikeout Queen” in women’s professional baseball league, died a few days ago. She pitched for 6 seasons and even pitched for several months pregnant with her first child in 1948. I think she is pretty cool.” I think so, too, Maggie. She even inspired one of my favorite movies! If you have someone you would like me to shout out, email me jen@sayanythingradio.com!

Kari also brought a shout out to mother nature because Gustav wasn’t so bad and she still gets to go on her trip (and peoples’ lives weren’t ruined). We’ll miss her next week but she will be back with I’m sure great tales of New Orleans! I’ll still be doing the show this week so tune in! Kari will join us from New Orleans live. Join us Tuesday 7-8 PM Eastern at Ustream.

So Kari was a little scared she might not get to go on her trip and that led us into talking about our fears. Everyone has fears, how about phobias? What are yours? There are some interesting ones out there, for sure!

Speaking of fear-how about Sarah Palin as a possible VP and maybe President if McCain is elected and kicks the bucket? It’s probably pretty obvious which side of the political spectrum Kari and I are on, but share your thoughts on a woman, THIS woman in a high political office. Kari doesn’t like that McCain only met her once…then she was corrected by live listener obeoman who pointed out they’ve met twice! Whew, I feel better ;)

I do love talking politics and I’m so glad you, our listeners, are equally as involved! But we can’t talk about serious stuff forever!

This week’s Kari On was about masturbation. We all have homework now. Did you complete yours? Listen to the show for the assignment and make sure you comment on this blog when done. Remember we don’t necessarily need details and we do NOT need pictures but just a simple “homework done” will suffice. Speaking of which…I have some homework to do!

Make sure you check out our songs and see you next week!

icon for podpress  Episode 73 - Let's Talk About Sex (and religion... and politics...) [59:09m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

SomaCow Media presents Say… Anything brought to you this week by SomaCow! Check out the guys live on Saturdays from 1-4 PM Eastern at Ustream.tv

This week’s shout out goes to Michelle Obama for her awesomeness!

And Kari chose her daughters! Aren’t they a good looking bunch??

So this lead us into possibly our most controversial show with myself and Kari as hosts. We actually agreed but are looking forward to hearing how you feel! Why don’t people vote? Why do people go to church? Even little Rowan made her vote known! :)

We are thinking God does listen to our show! Some of our requests from ep. 72 are coming true!

Kari debuted her new segment, Kari On, with a spanking new intro and outro, too! This week she Karied On about phone sex and gave some great tips. Our live chatroom joined in re cyber sex vs. phone sex. And how about a phone sex operator? Think Kari could do it?

And we had some awesome music this week. Check it out and let the bands know you heard them on Say… Anything!

  • NOFX - Separation of Church and Skate
  • Hot One - Get Your Priest On

icon for podpress  Episode 72 - Goin' for the Gold [58:47m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything brought to you this week by Facebook!

This week’s shout out was suggested by our great listener FrogQueen.

Wilma Rudolph from Tennessee broke through physical and race barriers.

What an amazing woman. We all can learn something from her and her family. Thanks FrogQueen!

Speaking of FrogQueen, she wasn’t able to join us live this week thanks to Tropical Storm Rainy Weather Fay.

Fay got everyone hyped including our own Kari! We postponed our live show to Wednesday thanks to this…rain. But just because we aren’t getting as much here as thought doesn’t mean it isn’t affecting many people in our area. Kari got all kinds of supplies and I just got some propane filled. What do you do in your area to prepare for mother nature? Do you even have anything like fires/hurricanes/tornadoes? (and if not, let me know where you live!) So Kari’s shout out this week was to our local news stations and their crazy coverage of Fay.

And Facebook…wow…so this week my best friend from childhood got on Facebook and we reconnected and come to find out Kari’s did, too! So Kari seems to believe that God is a faithful listener to Say… Anything and put out a few more requests. I just threw one out there. We’ll see next week if our requests were heard!

My friend commented on how happy she was that I had a baby, knowing how much I always wanted to be a mom. Kari doesn’t seem to have that same desire. Her mom thinks it’s her just finding the right man but I think that’s just her mom wanting a grandbaby! Kari did agree to help me with raising a good well-rounded little girl, though. Do you want kids? If you have kids did you always know you wanted them? Did you feel pressured?

Kari has decided that after our successful episodes 69 and 70, that she is going to have a new segment called Kari On! Kari will answer questions and we’ll discuss things such as sex, foreplay, and hygiene. And our chatroom seemed to be most interested in her possible future topic of fetishes…I love our live audience. Why don’t you join us next week at Ustream (click there!) Tuesday from 7-8 PM Eastern! We’d love to have your interaction. See you then!

SomaCow Media is proud to present Say… Anything brought to you this week by Zombies. Zombies, Zombies featuring our own Kari and Just Push Play’s Gary! My shout out this week is to Olive Riley, the world’s oldest blogger.

She passed away but what a cool lady! Check out her blogs and may she rest in peace. Kari made up for lost time and brought two shout-outs! One sells balls and one has a big set of ‘em! So are you watching the olympics? I’ve seen some and thanks to FrogQueen in our live chat, I found out what the hell sport I was watching! Kari and I found out we have something (else) in common…we don’t have lifelong friends. I mean hopefully we’ll have current friends for our lifetime but we don’t really keep in touch with people from our past. Do you have friends still from your youth? Kari is still looking for a job so I brought out some tips that might help her…or not.

And as noted in the first line, Kari’s movie, Zombies, Zombies, Zombies, is coming out soon! You can pre-order it from Amazon or it will be available on Netflix! Check it out and let us know what you think.

And this week we played some interesting tunes thanks to Kari’s music picking method:
